Pantone Solid Color Set
Integrated Pantone toolkit combining portable Formula Guides with detachable Solid Chips for colour selection, presentation and print production.
PANTONE® SOLID COLOR SET
The PANTONE
Solid Color Set - Formula Guide & Solid Chips | Coated & Uncoated is a
complete professional colour toolkit for designers, printers, brand teams and
production specialists working with Pantone Spot Colours across print and
packaging workflows. Combining the Pantone Formula Guide with the Pantone Solid
Chips Books, this set gives users both a portable colour matching guide and a
shareable desktop chip reference in one coordinated bundle.
The set
contains the current Pantone Graphics spot colour range of 2,390 market-driven
colours, including 224 newer graphics colours developed for contemporary design
needs.
The Formula
Guide is the core handheld reference for selecting, specifying and
communicating Pantone Spot Colours. Printed as coated and uncoated fan decks,
it shows each colour with its corresponding number and ink formulation.
Printers can use the ink formulas to help reproduce Pantone Spot Colours
accurately on printed materials.
The Solid
Chips Books provide the same colour language in a removable chip format. Each
chip book page shows up to seven Pantone Colours, with six individual 1.2 × 0.8
inch chips per colour. The perforated chips can be removed, shared, attached to
artwork, placed into project folders, used in mood boards or sent to printers,
suppliers and clients as physical colour references.
This
combination is especially valuable because colour decisions often need to move
between people and locations. The set supports a smoother workflow from
inspiration through specification and quality review.
Both coated
and uncoated formats are included. Coated stock can make colours appear cleaner
and more vibrant, while uncoated stock often produces a softer, more absorbent
result. Having both references helps teams make better decisions for packaging,
stationery, brochures, catalogues, marketing materials, labels and brand
applications.
The guides
and chip books are printed on commonly used paper stock weights: 100 lb / 148
gsm coated paper and 80 lb / 118 gsm uncoated paper. These paper references
make the set relevant for many commercial print environments and allow users to
evaluate Pantone colours in relation to practical production surfaces.
The chip
books include all current Pantone Spot Colours as perforated removable paper
chips with three-sided colour bleed. This detail is important for colour
evaluation because chips can be placed directly beside other colours with less
visual interference from a white border.
Two paper
chip savers are included for organising and storing loose chips. Instead of
losing removed chips or mixing them into unrelated projects, teams can maintain
clearer colour documentation during creative and production processes.
A Lighting
Indicator page in the Formula Guide helps demonstrate when lighting conditions
are suitable for colour evaluation.
The colours
are arranged chromatically, with newer Formula Guide colour pages positioned at
the front of the guides. Indexes in the back of the guides and front of the
books provide numeric location for each colour, helping users find Pantone
references quickly during meetings, design work and production reviews.
For
branding and logo design, the Pantone Solid Color Set supports colour
consistency across printed brand assets. Teams can define a Pantone Spot
Colour, communicate it clearly and share removable chips with stakeholders who
need to approve or reproduce the colour.
For
packaging design, the set is particularly strong. Packaging colour must be
distinctive, consistent and production-ready. Removable chips help align
designers, printers, converters and brand owners before final output, while the
Formula Guide supports ink-based specification.
For
marketing and graphic design, the set supports brochures, catalogues,
campaigns, event materials, displays, direct mail, labels and premium print
communication. It gives creative teams a reliable physical standard for
choosing and presenting colour.
For digital
design teams working alongside print, the set provides the physical Pantone
reference that often anchors wider brand colour systems. Digital values still
require separate colour management, but the printed Pantone reference helps
define the intended colour target for real-world output.
The PANTONE
Solid Color Set is ideal for inspiration, palette planning, specification,
sharing, approval and evaluation.
For
professional B2B users in branding, packaging, print manufacturing, product
communication and graphic design, this set offers one of the most complete
Pantone Spot Colour solutions. It brings together portability, removable chips,
ink formulation data and coated/uncoated comparison to support precise,
collaborative and production-focused colour decisions.
